We are delighted to invite you to the Island Centre for Net Zero’s first open day on Thursday 7 December 2023, 1pm – 6pm.
We welcome all to come and find out about the project and how to get involved.
Alongside panel discussions on topics such as transport and future-proofing key local sectors, there will be a drop-in information area with teas, coffees, and cakes where the ICNZ team will be on hand throughout the afternoon.
The ICNZ is part of the Islands Growth Deal, funded by the UK and Scottish Governments. Over the next 10 years, the ICNZ aims to accelerate decarbonisation across Orkney, Shetland and the Outer Hebrides, focussing on what makes sense for local people and environments, maximising community benefit from the transition to net zero and creating world leading skills and expertise across the Islands. Project partners are keen to hear from residents, community groups and businesses on what challenges and opportunities should be prioritised by ICNZ.
The open day will be hosted simultaneously in Stromness, Stornoway, and Lerwick, with online links available for those unable to attend in person.
